OKTA launches consumer support initiative following additional fuel volumes through VARDAX Pipeline
Skopje, 12.03.2026 OKTA, the leading fuel supplier in the Republic of North Macedonia, today announced a nationwide initiative aimed at supporting the fuel market and easing current pressures amid increased volatility in regional and international energy markets.
Following the successful receipt of additional product volumes through the VARDAX pipeline-further strengthening the country’s supply capacity, OKTA is proceeding with a market-wide support initiative.
Starting tomorrow and continuing until the end of the month, OKTA will implement a 2 MKD per liter discount on Diesel and Gasolines for traders purchasing fuels from the company, offering wholesale and retail partners additional flexibility to reflect this support in the prices offered to their customers. Retail and wholesale traders will continue to determine their resale prices independently, in accordance with their own commercial policies and market conditions.
Based on expected market volumes by month-end, the initiative corresponds to an overall market support contribution by OKTA estimated to reach €2 million, reflecting the company’s commitment to supply security, market stability, and the mitigation of current market pressures.
Dimitrios Paschos, CEO of OKTA, stated:“Recognizing the difficulties that the current situation in the energy sector has brought, OKTA is taking concrete action to support the market and consumers.
In this context, the strengthening of supply through the VARDAX pipeline plays an important role in ensuring stability and continuity in fuel supply across the country. As a socially responsible energy supplier, OKTA is committed to ensuring that this strengthened supply translates into tangible support for the market. For this reason, from today until the end of the month, OKTA is introducing a discount of 2 MKD per liter of Diesel and Gasolines - to wholesale and retail traders that purchase fuels from OKTA, enabling them to pass on the benefit to end consumers. However, wholesale and retail traders remain entirely free to determine their own resale prices. This initiative reflects OKTA’s long standing commitment to supporting the market, households, and businesses during demanding periods.”
Sanja Bozhinovska, Minister of Energy of the Republic of North Macedonia, said: “The strengthening of fuel supply through the VARDAX pipeline represents an important step forward for the country’s energy security and the resilience of our fuel market. In a period when international energy markets remain unpredictable and prices are influenced by global developments, ensuring reliable supply and stability for citizens and businesses is a key priority for the Government. The enhanced capacity of the pipeline contributes to strengthening the country’s energy infrastructure and reinforces the Republic of North Macedonia’s position within the regional energy network. Initiatives that translate this strengthened supply into direct support for consumers are particularly important, as they help ease pressure on households and businesses while maintaining stability in the domestic fuel market. We welcome efforts that support citizens and contribute to the stability of the energy system, especially at a time when coordinated action between institutions and the private sector is essential for addressing the challenges of today’s energy landscape.”
